Khan tweeted the following a few hours ago, breaking the news while throwing AEW's support behind Moxley and wife Renee Paquette, encouraging others to seek help in the process:-

Jon Moxley has allowed me to share with you that he is entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program. Jon is a beloved member of the AEW family. We all stand with him and Renee, and all of his family and friends, as he shifts his focus to recovery. Jon is making a very brave choice to get help, and we’re embracing his choice and supporting him however we can. I’m proud to call Jon a friend, and like many of you, I’m also a fan of Mox and look forward to a time in the future when he is eventually ready to return to the ring. Until then, thank you for supporting Jon and respecting his privacy at this time. If you or a loved one need help, please reach out to SAMHSA’s National Helpline: 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

Though wrestling is far from the most important thing at the moment, Moxley's impending absence leaves AEW with a spot to fill in the ongoing World Title Eliminator tournament. Mox was due to face Orange Cassidy on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite, with the winner meeting Bryan Danielson at Full Gear 2021 (13 November), and AEW is yet to make an announcement on how it will address this.

Jon and Renee welcomed their first child (a daughter, Nora) to the world on 15 June 2021. We at WhatCulture wish to extend our thoughts to Mox and his young family as he takes this important, difficult first step.
