Speaking on a special Ask Matt Anything episode of his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast (via 411 Mania), the elder Hardy noted how Jeff "seems to be in a really good place".

As Matt detailed:

"He is doing the same thing he's been doing. He's doing exactly what he needs to be doing to get to where he needs to be in life. More or less, we've just got to get these legal issues behind him before we move forward. That's where we are at with Jeff, and we are hoping that happens sooner rather than later."

The former Hardy Family Office man added:

"Yeah, he seems to be in a really good place, which is very nice and refreshing to see. Hopefully that continues and we get him back to where he belongs."

Having been released be WWE in December 2021, Jeff Hardy debuted in AEW on the 9 March episode of Dynamite. Tony Khan's promotion announced in June that Jeff had been suspended indefinitely following an arrest for driving under the influence, with this unfortunately the latest in a long line of arrests and legal issues for the three-time WWE World Champion.

More recently, Jeff's pre-trial hearing date was scheduled for 21 December, with this week seeing Hardy's attorneys looking to push this back to February of next year. This follows on the heels of the 45-year-old's attorneys getting this date moved back several times already.

In terms of the North Carolina native's AEW status, his suspension is an unpaid one, and Tony Khan has noted how Hardy will only be allowed to return to All Elite Wrestling once he's completed alcohol rehabilitation and maintained his sobriety.
