AEW's Max Caster To Attend Sensitivity Training
Notes on Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, and The Acclaimed's AEW status.
All Elite Wrestling have sent Max Caster to sensitivity training following his controversial rap on last week's episode of Dark, reports Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Airing on the live version of the 3 August episode of Dark, the rap featured distasteful jokes on Simone Biles' mental health and the 2006 Duke lacrosse r*pe case, as well as a COVID-19 conspiracy line on "fake" PCR tests. Though done in character, it sparked immediate controversy for AEW.
The Acclaimed's rap and entrance were edited out of the version of Dark uploaded to YouTube. AEW had taped the footage six days earlier, leading to backlash for them not cutting it before it made air.
There is currently no word on how long Caster will attend sensitivity training for or when he'll return to television. His Acclaimed partner, Anthony Bowens, looks set to remain active for the time being, having worked a singles match against PAC (using different theme music) at this week's Dark: Elevation tapings (spoilers).
Caster has removed all references to AEW and The Acclaimed from his social media accounts since this situation arose. Fightful reported earlier in the week that while he is still with AEW, his appearances are on ice.
