AEW's Tony Khan Debuts On Impact Wrestling, Matt Hardy & Private Party Also Appear
AEW's Tony Khan, Jerry Lynn, and Matt Hardy jumped to Impact last night, as Private Party won big.
All Elite Wrestling had a heavy presence on last night's Impact Wrestling show, with Tony Khan making his first in-person appearance for the Anthem-helmed promotion after weeks of "paid advertisements" mocking the former TNA with Tony Schiavone.
Khan was there with AEW coach Jerry Lynn. After cutting a short hype promo for this week's Dynamite, the duo took ringside seats for an Impact Tag Team Title contendership match pitting AEW's Private Party against James Storm and Chris Sabin. Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen ended up winning that bout when Lynn interfered on their behalf.
Private Party arrived with manager Matt Hardy earlier in the show, interrupting a segment between Sabin, Storm, and the Good Brothers. That's where the contendership bout was booked, with Quen and Kassidy's victory punching their ticket for a title fight with Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, who have already appeared on Dynamite several times as part of the AEW/Impact storyline.
Also on the show were AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Impact executive Don Callis, who told the audience they were "going to Jacksonville for a while" but would eventually return.
The end result of all of this is that Khan now has a strong onscreen presence in Impact than his own promotion, where he has thankfully lived up to his promise of never becoming a full-time on-air authority figure. The prospect of an Impact invasion as revenge for Khan, Lynn, Hardy, and Private Party's actions shouldn't be ruled out for tonight's Dynamite.
