AEW's William Regal Launching New Podcast
Get ready to add Gentleman Villain to your regular podcast schedule.
In some news that's sure to put a smile on the face of many a wrestling fan, William Regal will soon be launching his own Gentleman Villain podcast.
To be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and the regular platforms for such shows, Regal will talk through his life and career with Conrad Thompson on Gentleman Villain. As of this time, a premiere date has yet to be announced, with the show currently listed as "coming soon".
The full description for Gentleman Villain reads:
"The 'Gentleman Villain' William Regal will be featured in what is sure to be one of the most talked about wrestling podcasts in the world. Regal, originally from Blackpool, England, will share stories of his teenage years, spent traveling the roads of his native United Kingdom, wrestling fellow wrestlers, as well as strangers from out of the crowd, as part of a touring carnival act. Regal & Thompson will also talk about his days traveling the world and winning championships in Europe, the Middle East and Japan, before his career brought him to the big stages of WCW and WWE where he won numerous championships and accolades. Another topic will be Regal's run as the General Manager of Raw and his time as the General Manager of NXT where he helped develop the next generation of wrestling superstars."
Nowadays in AEW as the head of the Blackpool Combat Club, William Regal has certainly had quite the life and quite the career. Full of highs and lows, Regal became one of the very best technical wrestlers in the business during his time touring the world - of course, most notably while working for WWE and WCW.
More recent years have seen the former Intercontinental Champion using his knowledge and experience to craft new generations of talent, with Regal having been a pivotal part of the NXT brand and helping to create some of the major names of present-day WWE.
After spending 21 years with WWE, Regal was surprisingly released on 5 June as yet another act of "budget cuts" by Vince McMahon's sports entertainment juggernaut. The Brit arrived in AEW at last month's Revolution PPV, slapping both Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley before formally forming the aforementioned Blackpool Combat Club with the pair. In the time since then, Wheeler Yuta has also been added to the BCC.
