AJ Lee is returning to professional wrestling for the first time since 2015.

As confirmed during the promotion's relaunch press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada last night, Lee will serve as an executive producer for WOW - Women Of Wrestling, which will return to American television screens via ViacomCBS in September 2022.

This will be the first time Lee has been involved with wrestling on any level since leaving WWE in April 2015. Citing cervical spine damage as the reason for her retirement, Lee has stayed active in other formers of media since moving on from wrestling, including the release of her first book, Crazy Is My Superpower, in April 2017.

Fightful Select reports that Lee and WOW had originally planned on meeting to discuss her role back in August. While her exact duties with the group remain unclear, at least one other wrestling promoter has expressed an interest in booking Lee if she is interested in expanding her return.

There is currently no indication that AJ has any plans on stepping between the ropes again.

Tessa Blanchard will work with WOW as part of its relaunch, as confirmed earlier this week. The promotion, which last aired on AXS TV in 2019, is still putting its roster together.
