Vince McMahon may already have some heat with AJ Styles. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported this week that Styles and Doc Gallows have deals with Figures Inc, with action figures due to be released soon. Vince McMahon was "furious" when the same situation occurred with Kevin Steen action figures last year. What's worse for Styles, is Figures Inc will be able to release the figures under the "AJ Styles" name. Furthermore, they are expected to beat WWE's action figures to the market. You can understand why McMahon could be angry at this situation, as merchandising and these sort of franchising deals are key to WWE business. However, it isn't really Styles' fault, he couldn't have predicted his WWE deal coming about. With that in mind, maybe the backstage repercussions won't be too bad. So far, Styles has enjoyed a dream start to his WWE career. The company booked him to look very strong in his debut at the Royal Rumble, and then the next night on Raw he defeated one of the best in the business in Chris Jericho. He's being presented as high work rate, which is making him very popular with the crowds. If he can avoid any political pitfalls, he could enjoy a solid upper mid card year.
