AJ Styles Negotiating New WWE Contract, Wants Reduced Schedule
Former WWE champ looking for Randy Orton style dates.
AJ Styles is apparently in the midst of negotiating for a new contract with WWE - and is said to be looking for a heavily reduced schedule.
Fightful.com reports from two separate sources that the Phenomenal One, who turns 42 next year, has asked for a contract which limits his dates to television and a handful of live appearances, in a similar manner to that of Randy Orton's.
Styles, who is coming up on three years with the company this January, is said to be discussing a new deal of a similar length. It was also noted that the Georgian, who suddenly lost his WWE Title to Daniel Bryan just days before this Sunday's Survivor Series, suggested dropping the strap so that he could spend more time with his family. However, it's not understood whether the recent change was directly related to the superstar's negotiations.
Though Styles has plenty of options away from WWE should the two parties fail to come to terms - and there's no real suggestion that they won't - his time with the company is guaranteed to run until at least April so that he can fulfil duties relating to 2K Games' 'Million Dollar Challenge'.
