AJ Styles & Omos Were Nearly Split Up In 2021 WWE Draft
WWE officials gave serious consideration to splitting up the former Raw Tag Team Champions.
With the 2021 WWE Draft having now taken place, one tag team who are seemingly fortunate to still be together are the pairing of AJ Styles and Omos.
As per the usually reliable @WrestleVotes, there was serious consideration about splitting the former Raw Tag Team Champions up as part of the aforementioned Draft. By the sounds of it, certain senior figures within WWE moved to put a stop to any such split.
WWE had seriously considered breaking the pairing of AJ Styles & Omos during draft. To the point where that was the plan. Until people of power (including a main RAW talent) spoke up & expressed thoughts on how Omos isn’t quite ready for singles yet. And they actually listened.

The Styles and Omos tandem have been together for nearly a year by this point in time, with the Phenomenal One introducing Omos as his bodyguard on the 20 October 2021 episode of Raw.
Clearly WWE sees Omos as a future big-time player, and having someone like AJ Styles alongside him is a great way for the real-life Jordan Omogbehin to gain valuable experience and grow as a performer.
Whilst AJ and Omos were kept together during the 2021 Draft, the team who did end up being torn apart were ex-RETRIBUTION members Mace and T-Bar. Similarly, there have been reports that WWE also considered drafting the Street Profits to different brands, before it was ultimately Mace and T-Bar who were sent their separate ways - with Mace moving to SmackDown and T-Bar remaining on Raw.
Of course, the moves made during the WWE Draft 2021 will not actually come into play until the 22 October episode of SmackDown.
