AJ Styles versus Chris Jericho is official for WWE Fastlane, in what is widely expected to be the match of the night. It will be the final part of their recent trilogy, with the feud tied at a win each. On this week's Smackdown, Jericho denied Styles a third match. The babyface then hit the newly turned heel out of the ring, which resulted in Jericho saying the match was on. Fans should expect something special this sunday, something far more substantial than the television efforts between the two men. With Fastlane being fairly weak on the undercard, Jericho and Styles should get a good fifteen to twenty minutes to work with, which is plenty of time to put on a technical clinic and tell a riveting story. In terms of the winner, it only makes sense that the new babyface goes over, but Jericho is certainly gaining increasing momentum as the veteran heel. Announcing the bout just days before the show is usually never a good idea, it should have had time for promotion. However, in this case, it was always clear that they were headed in this direction. When Jericho defeated Styles on Smackdown last week, drawing their series at 1-1, it was obvious that a third and final bout would take place. Most fans had figured it would be the diamond of the Fastlane undercard.
