Alberto Del Rio Debuts In AAA And Calls WWE Racist

Del Rio is now in breach of his WWE no compete clause.

Alberto Del Rio sensationally debuted on AAA's TripleMania show on Sunday night. His feature role is almost certain to cause some legal issues with WWE, who only released the star on August 7th. More specifically, AAA were perhaps in breach of copyright when they used Del Rio's WWE ring music. The name Alberto Del Rio was also used on a graphic, although the Mexican star is now going under the name Alberto El Patron. Perhaps an even more serious concern for WWE was the promo Del Rio started to cut when he came to the ring. He said he encountered racism in WWE, and was about to say more, when a group of AAA heels attacked him. AAA's booking of Del Rio makes him their biggest number one babyface. Following that promo, he returned later in the night, running in to attack Perro Aguayo Jr. He put Aguayo Jr in the arm-bar he used to such great success in WWE, ensuring that the TripleMania crowd went home happy. It will be interesting to see what comes of Del Rio's debut. AAA using him when he's still under a no compete clause is a bold decision. WWE will now surely pounce into legal action, they can't be made to look weak, they must make sure that their wrestlers know they must respect WWE contracts. Del Rio's AAA debut came on the same night that WWE's own SummerSlam was airing. That made it just a little bit more insulting for WWE, who were vastly overshadowed in Mexico by AAA and Del Rio's move.
