Aleister Black Being Written Off WWE Television?

This week's eyeball attack may have been a temporary write-off.

Aleister Black could be set for an indefinite hiatus from WWE television.

This is according to Dave Meltzer, who discussed the matter on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio. He stated that WWE had plans for Seth Rollins and Murphy to neutralise Black with an injury angle at one point, though the fast-moving, ever-changing nature of the company's current creative process means this may have changed over the past few days.

No indication of how long WWE want to sideline Black was given, though it may stem from this week's segment with Rollins, Murphy, and Dominick Mysterio. Aleister came within a hair of meeting Rey Mysterio's Horror Show at Extreme Rules fate as Murphy pressed his eyeball down against the corner of the ring steps. This came just one week after Rollins and his henchman had beaten the Dutchman down following a match, forcing Black to wear a sling on his arm.

That WWE would consider sidelining Black at a time when so many wrestlers are absent from their television tapings is a curious move, though the former NXT Champion was always thought to be a Paul Heyman guy - and Heyman is no longer running creative on RAW.
