The inaugural episode of WWE Backstage on FS1 hit the airwaves with Triple H as the first guest last night, with the company's Chief Operating Officer paying off the widespread "blockbuster trade" rumours that had circulated throughout the day.

Per 'The Game' (speaking from the WWE Performance Center), former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross have been sent to SmackDown in exchange for "future draft pick considerations" - which sounds like something the promotion will conveniently forget about the next time a draft rolls around.

Nonetheless, the Cross/Bliss trade adds much-needed depth to a SmackDown women's roster gutted by the departures of Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Charlotte Flair in the 2019 Draft. It's still a little thin, but with these two, Bayley, and Sasha Banks, things are looking considerably healthier than they were 24 hours ago.

The unlikely Cross/Bliss pairing recently dropped the Women's Tag Team Championships to the Kabuki Warriors. WWE have pulled back on their teased split over the past month or so, with the duo finding increased cohesion and chemistry as a tandem.

Bit weird that they were drafted separately last Friday but together on Backstage, though.
