ANOTHER New AEW Signing Confirmed
Tony Khan hits Twitter to confirm another new AEW signing...
Jake Atlas is #AllElite.
Tuesday evening saw AEW president and owner Tony Khan use Twitter to announce that his promotion had signed the former NXT wrestler following an impressive debut outing on the previous evening's episode of Dark, in which Atlas squashed YouTube regular Serpentico.
Here's what Khan had to say while welcoming Atlas to the team:-
Congratulations on winning your tryout match last night, Jake Atlas! What a great @AEW debut, and now @kennymarquez, I’ll see you Tomorrow night in Newark at the debut of #AEWDynamite on @TBSNetwork! Safe travels, and…Welcome to the team! #JakeAtlas is All Elite! pic.twitter.com/b9oDuGLZWZ

The 27-year-old had been out of wrestling entirely since September 2021, when he announced he was stepping away from the sport for mental health reasons. This came one month after his WWE release on 6 August, when the highly-touted up-and-comer was let go alongside a number of other NXT and 205 Live names in the company's latest round of "budget cuts."
Considered one of the independent scene's brightest young talents upon breaking out in the late 2010s, Atlas signed for WWE in October 2019, debuting on television the following April. Though he featured in brief feuds with the likes of Santos Escobar, he struggled for a featured spot on television and often drifted in and out of action prior to being let go. Nonetheless, he is a skilled, potential-packed wrestler who, in his own words, now has a point to prove:-
If only everyone knew every detail leading up to this. This means everything to me. Cliché but I REALLY have a lot to prove now. This year, whether you love me or hate me, you’re going to know me. It is what it is. Superstar is back. ✨
