Moose could be on the verge of leaving IMPACT Wrestling and becoming a free agent, as the former World Heavyweight Champion's contract with the Anthem-helmed promotion is set to expire sometime this month.

Fightful Select has reported as much, noting that Moose had previously been set to become a free agent in 2021, though IMPACT re-signed him.

2021 saw IMPACT try to tie Moose into a new deal before he could field offers from elsewhere. As a result, the big man was given a "lucrative" new contract and a strong push, having reigned as World Champion for 182 days since then.

Moose had told the outlet that WWE was interested in him last year, with former company executive Canyon Ceman seemingly leading the charge. Hitting the main roster straight away and skipping developmental were among the ideas pitched, though Vince McMahon may have proved a stumbling block, with the current Executive Chairman "dragging his feet on signing off on that."

Moose, 39, entered wrestling after commencing his training under Mr. Hughes in 2012. He has been with IMPACT (then TNA) in 2016, having spent the previous couple of years rising to prominence in Ring of Honor.
