Another Wrestling Legend Turns Down 'Last Match' Proposal
Here's another iconic wrestler who won't be following in Ric Flair's footsteps...
Add Diamond Dallas Page to the growing list of wrestlers who won't be going down the Ric Flair route by working one last match.
Speaking on his and Jake 'The Snake' Roberts' DDP Snake Pit podcast recently, Page revealed that Starrcast promoter Conrad Thompson had nudged him towards a final in-ring stand. DDP wasn't interested, however, claiming he was happy with how he had signed off on his wrestling career.

“It’s nothing I’ll ever do. Conrad was like ‘You know DDP, you’d be perfect to do one of these,’ I was like ‘Nah bro, I’m good. I had my last match, it’s never going to be better than that.’ I was lucky enough to have all my boys around me and it was fun. I’m good with that.”
Thompson's Starrcast imprint hosted 'Jim Crockett Promotions Presents: Ric Flair's Last Match' on 31 July 2022. The much-publicised show was one of the most successful independent wrestling events ever, drawing 6,800 fans in Nashville, Tennessee, and was headlined by a 73-year-old Flair and son-in-law Andrade El Idolo's win over Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.
DDP, 66, wrestled his final match on the 15 January 2020 episode of AEW Dynamite, teaming with Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall in a losing effort against MJF, The Butcher, and The Blade. Prior to this, the cult WCW favourite last competed in WrestleMania 32's Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (2016).
