Assessing Future Of 10 WWE Stars Who Didn’t Make Royal Rumble 2017 Cut
4. Titus O'Neil
In the lead up to the Royal Rumble, Titus O'Neil tried in vain to nab one of The New Day's spots in the 30-man match. Largely falling on deaf ears, the comedic approach Titus and New Day favoured existed solely to eat up air time on Raw and didn't lead to anything meaningful.
O'Neil was absent from the Rumble bout, starting off 2017 in the same way 2016 ended for the former Prime Time Player. An auxiliary figure, Titus is absolutely not going to get pushed at 39 years of age. Right now, there are wrestlers in the WWE system who have more talent and are younger than O'Neil, meaning he will continue to coast along doing precious little of note.
There's a chance Titus will be released when the next glut of NXT stars hit the main roster. Currently, he's only on Raw because it's a 3-hour show, not because he offers anything that excites. Splitting O'Neil from Darren Young (again) was a mistake, he's much more effective as a mid-card tag attraction than he is on his own.
