According to "multiple sources", the former NXT Women's Champion - who relinquished her belt last month after suffering a collarbone injury at TakeOver: Brooklyn - will be assigned to the Raw brand.

It was previously suggested that Asuka could be set for a run on SmackDown Live, having been scheduled to appear on overseas events tied to the Tuesday night show.

But she is now expected to debut on Raw at some point during October, which would match the original eight-week time-scale for her recovery.

WWE is reportedly planning to air a collection of Asuka's best matches on the Network around this time in order to promote her return to the ring.

Triple H revealed earlier this year that the 35-year-old was mooted as a potential main roster addition after the return of the brand extension in mid-2016.

But the company ultimately favoured leaving her in the developmental ranks, where she has since gathered further momentum during a record-setting 510-day title reign.

Asuka's final match in NXT saw her successfully defend her title against Ember Moon.
