At WrestleMania 40, Roman Reigns Will Face...
Everyone wants Roman for the biggest show of the year, but who gets him?
In the strangest, most inconclusive, least press-friendly "press conference" in memory, The Rock and Cody Rhodes made it clear that both men want Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
Billed as a WrestleMania Kickoff press conference, Triple H and superstars took no questions from the press, instead conducting an hourlong promo train that featured Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch before giving way to a four-way confrontation involving Rock, Rhodes, Reigns and Seth Rollins.
During the promo exchange, Roman made it clear he wanted to face Rock at Mania. The Rock came out and cut a promo that skewed heel and then attempted to make Rock/Roman "official" with a handshake.
Enter Cody. Despite clearly saying last week on SmackDown that he was coming for Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship "but not at WrestleMania," Rhodes declared the Samoan family fight "bulls***" and said that as the winner of the Royal Rumble, he was choosing Roman.
But the event didn't end there, with Rock and Roman facing off with Rhodes (with Rollins a step behind him). Cody had insulted Roman's -- and by extension, Rock's -- family, while Rocky had taken a swipe at Cody's fans, and Reigns had called Dusty Rhodes irrelevant.
Despite all the confusion, Triple H seemed to make it official afterward.

That didn't stop the kickoff panel of Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Big E and CM Punk from openly speculating about whether we'd get Roman/Rock and Roman/Cody over two nights, or if there would be a tag team main event (ala WrestleMania I) with Rollins joining Cody to face the Bloodline.
It's worth noting that Triple H opened the event by talking about the history of that first WrestleMania tag team main event, which could telegraph things a bit.
For now though, it appears to be Roman/Cody II for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40. But it also seems that the chaos and uncertainty will continue into the coming days and weeks.
