Backstage News On WWE Officials Thoughts On Karrion Kross
Is it a thumbs up or an ominous thumbs down for the now-former NXT Champion?
With last night’s episode of NXT seeing newly-crowned NXT Champion Karrion Kross having to vacate his title due to injury, there’s now an update on what the backstage reaction to Kross has been from WWE higher-ups.
Previously, we’ve heard how WWE management has at times soured on a talent for having the audacity to be injured through no fault of their own, but it appears that there is nothing to be concerned about for fans of the now-former NXT Champion.
In a report from Fightful Select, an NXT source has said how they have never seen WWE officials have such high hopes and praise for an NXT talent.
Triple H and Matt Bloom are both named as being huge fans of Kross, and WWE brass was instantly sold on Karrion Kross from the moment they first met with him after he was finally allowed to depart IMPACT Wrestling.
As seen by how Kross has been depicted on NXT TV, WWE officials wanted to push the New Yorker hard from the get-go. That push, of course, resulted in him tearing through anybody and everybody – including former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa – on his way to dethroning Keith Lee merely three months after Kross first appeared on NXT programming.
Also in his favour, the same report adds that the real-life Kevin Kesar has been extremely easy to do business with, and it’s safe to assume that Kross’ eventual return to action will see him either inserted right back into the NXT main event scene or possibly even shot straight to Raw or SmackDown.
Right now, the main priority for Karrion Kross is to recover from the separated shoulder he suffered at NXT TakeOver XXX – which unfortunately is severe enough that Kross is likely to have a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
