Kenny and Mikey returned to WWE television on October 4th. Though originally thought to be a one-off in their former Spirit Squad buddy Dolph Ziggler's feud with The Miz, the duo have remained a constant presence on SmackDown ever since, leading to talk of both men getting another full-time shot with the company.

Interestingly, the duo remain unsigned and available for independent bookings. Miz brought them back to the company, but the Squad appeared without him last night, suggesting there's life in their act once the current storyline runs its course.

Kenny's stormy relationship with John Cena has caused speculation since his return, but PWInsider Elite are reporting that there have been no issues as they're in "two different worlds" backstage.

Their troubles stem from former WWE Women's Champion Mickie James, who Kenny was engaged to a few years ago. Kenny revealed on social media in 2012 that James had been cheating on him with Cena, and Tweeted the following:-

"She was googling mickie james and john cena dating. I asked why, she broke down crying. Then I heard more from others. She was checking to see if it was on the net yet. I feel bad for magnus. Nice guy dating a .... well u know."

Kenny was released from his original WWE contract in 2008, and alleged that Mickie and Cena's relationship was a deciding factor:-

"He was messing with MJ so I got moved to Smackdown so they could further mess. I jobbed, got fired. When MJ got crazy because he wouldn't date her, she then got fired. Weird biz huh? She got title, on TV show while with him. Serves her well though."

Kenny did claim that he had no hard feelings towards Cena in 2012, however, and that there was no heat between the two. This, coupled with Cena's diminished schedule, makes the beef seem like a non-issue in Kenny's prospective re-employment.
