Miro stepped in for the absent Jon Moxley on last night's episode of AEW Dynamite, taking the former World Champion's spot in the ongoing Eliminator tournament following news of Mox entering an inpatient alcohol treatment program.

This was announced at the top of the show. After cutting a promo halfway through, Miro wrestled Orange Cassidy in the main event, beating the popular babyface to punch his ticket to the finals. He'll now face Bryan Danielson with an AEW Title shot on the line at Full Gear (13 November).

Fightful Select have released a report on how this all came about, noting that Miro wasn't originally booked for this week's Dynamite but was flown in to Kansas City on Wednesday afternoon.

AEW apparently cut things close when it came to getting the former TNT Champion to the building on time, though they'd made their decision on Tuesday afternoon. Miro has apparently been the subject of several creative changes lately, though what, exactly, those changes entail isn't currently clear.

The winner of Miro vs. Danielson will eventually face whoever leaves Full Gear with the AEW World Title when rivals Kenny Omega and Hangman Page meet at the pay-per-view.
