Having recently worked two matches for AEW, there's now an update on Trent Seven's status with Tony Khan's promotion.

As per Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Seven has not signed any sort of full-time deal with AEW at this time. Instead, the Moustache Mountain man's two outings to date have been part of a per-show arrangement.

So far, Trent has battled All-Atlantic Champion Orange Cassidy on last week's AEW Rampage, then was part of an eight-man tag match on this past Friday's Rampage. Said tag bout saw Seven team with Kip Sabian, the Butcher and the Blade in a losing effort against Cassidy, Trent Beretta, Chuck Taylor and Dustin Rhodes.

Trent Seven was one of the numerous NXT UK names released by WWE this past August, with the market leader looking to reshape that developmental arm into NXT Europe in 2023. It has been speculated that, like certain other released talents, Seven could be brought back into the fold once NXT Europe is fully up and running, though it remains to be seen whether that will indeed be the case.

Prior to that release, Trent had been associated with WWE as far back as 2016, with December of that year seeing it announced that the British Strong Style favourite was to be a part of the tournament to crown the first ever WWE UK Champion. Seven came up short against Wolfgang in the quarter-finals of that tourney, with Tyle Bate eventually toppling Pete Dunne to win the tournament and title. Trent would soon sign with WWE and become a key part of NXT UK, and he and Bate won the NXT UK Tag Team Titles and NXT Tag Team Titles during their time teaming together.
