Backstage Update On Jeff Hardy's WWE Status
New details on the Charismatic Enigma's current WWE deal.
While Matt Hardy has recently talked up how he wants to see his brother Jeff end up alongside him in AEW, there’s now an update on the Charismatic Enigma’s status with WWE.
Last September saw Jeff reveal how he’d recently signed a new WWE deal, although the specifics of that contract were not known. In a report from Fightful Select, the belief is that the two-time WWE Champion's deal was either restructured or extended and that he is tied down to Vince McMahon’s sports entertainment organisation until the end of 2022 or possibly the beginning of 2023.
The Hardy Boyz made their spectacular, shocking WWE return in 2017 at WrestleMania 33, winning the Raw Tag Team Championships on that night in a four-team ladder contest. Having signed three-year deals with the promotion at that point, Matt Hardy opted to let his WWE contract expire in March 2020 before shortly debuting in All Elite Wrestling.
As for Jeff, WWE trigged certain extension clauses in his contract due to injury lay-offs, before the current Raw star re-upped with the company last year.
Most recently, Hardy has been fairly low on the WWE totem pole, losing a couple of matches to Jinder Mahal before picking up a few Ws over Cedric Alexander.
