Lacey Evans has left WWE after her contract with the market-leading wrestling promotion expired on Wednesday.

This confirmation comes after Evans posted the following in an Instagram caption on Tuesday:-

When the clock strikes 12, you will address me as Macey Estrella from here on out.......oh, and this jacket is up for grabs. Be on the lookout??? . #ComingSoon #NoMannersMacey #GottaThinkOfSomeOtherCoolHashTag #LordLookAtMe

Fightful Select and PWInsider both reported at the time that WWE had not yet confirmed her release.

Now, it has.

The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reports that Evans is indeed done with WWE. Elsewhere, PWInsider adds that WWE has removed the former marine from its internal roster after her contract expired.

The former Evans has now changed her Instagram handle from @LaceyEvansWWE to @limitlessmacey, as well as adding "FKA WWE Superstar Lacey Evans" to her social media bios. As her contract expired, and the 33-year-old wasn't released before the end of her terms, she shouldn't be bound to a non-compete clause preventing her from working or signing for other wrestling promotions.

Evans had been with WWE since first entering its developmental system in 2016. Her past few years were marked with myriad creative changes, with WWE rarely settling on a consistent direction for the Evans character for longer than a few months.
