Currently serving as an on-screen authority figure, there's now an update on the in-ring return of Sonya Deville.

As per Fightful Select, Deville is expected to return to action shortly - and that could be as soon as this Sunday's Money in the Bank PPV.

Reports surfaced last month to say Sonya was training for her return to the ring, and this Fightful report claims how there has been a significant push to have the Jersey Devil play a part in the women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match this weekend.

Deville was at one point pencilled in to actually compete in the women's MITB contest, although it remains to be seen whether or not the New Jersey native will end up taking the final slot in that match. As it stands, that bout will feature Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Liv Morgan, Naomi, Natalya, Nikki Cross ASH, Zelina Vega and one to-be-revealed SmackDown talent.

WWE had originally planned to have Sonya back in action by WrestleMania 37, but those plans were ultimately shelved. Deville last wrestled at SummerSlam 2020, losing to Mandy Rose in a No DQ Loser Leaves WWE bout.

Having taken time away from WWE post-SummerSlam after a stalker broke into her home and tried to kidnap her, Sonya Deville returned to television in January to serve as an authority figure alongside Adam Pearce. She is said to have received "glowing reviews" for how she's handled the past year and how she has shone in her new role - though an in-ring return now looks set happen imminently.
