WWE's Extreme Rules 2019 card might be missing a key championship or two, but don't expect any additions before the pay-per-view hits the airwaves this Sunday evening (14 July).

This is according to Dave Meltzer in this week's edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. In his writeup, Meltzer claims that WWE held a backstage meeting on Wednesday, 10 July to determine whether or not they were going to put any more bouts together. They ultimately decided against making any additions despite talk that Intercontinental, Raw Tag Team, and Women's Tag Team Title fights could possibly be assembled.

While disappointing, this shouldn't come as a surprise given that Extreme Rules already has 10 matches in place. Regardless, this week's SmackDown sowed the seeds for Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, with 'The King Of Strong Style' pinning the Irishman in a non-title bout. There was also a backstage confrontation between The IIconics and The Kabuki Warriors, who earned the right to challenge Billie Kay and Peyton Royce by besting them on WWE's recent tour of Japan.

Rather than competing in Philadelphia, these names will now have to sit backstage and watch the action unfold instead.
