Backstage Update On When Veer Mahaan Will Finally Come (... To WWE)
One day, Veer Mahaan is going to come to WWE Raw. Until then...
WWE currently has no plans to re-debut Veer Mahaan in the 2022 Royal Rumble.
This is according to PWInsider's Mike Johnson, who reports that the former Indus Sher man isn't scheduled for the 29 January event barring a significant change in plans. This is despite WWE airing a neverending series of vignettes promoting Mahaan's arrival going all the way back to November 2021, to the extent that the situation has become a meme.
Fightful Select reported in December that not only was there "no rhyme or reason" behind WWE's decision to split Veer from allies Jinder Mahal and Shanky in the 2021 Draft, but the promotion hadn't yet come up with a plan for his singles debut. It appears that little has changed since then.
While Mahaan is yet to re-emerge on Raw, he has been active on Main Event in recent months, compiling a five-match winning streak over such opponents as John Morrison, T-BAR, and Shelton Benjamin. He and Shanky had become main roster regulars as Jinder's heavies between July and October 2021, when they were separated.
Veer, 33, has been signed to WWE since January 2018.
