Backstage Update On WWE's Judgment Day SPLITTING UP
Latest on WWE's plans for Ripley, Mysterio, Balor, and Priest... oh, and JD McDonagh.
Despite recent storylines trending towards a Judgment Day split, WWE currently has no plans to pull any members from the Raw stable, seemingly taking a split off the table for now.
Dave Meltzer reported in last week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE's long-term plans involved taking Damian Priest out of The Judgment Day. This would likely mean JD McDonagh joining the group, as has been teased on Raw lately, though Meltzer noted that while this was probable, it wasn't guaranteed.
In an update, insider account @boozerrasslin claims that nobody will be leaving The Judgment Day "for the time being."
This phrasing doesn't necessarily rule-out Priest leaving in the long run, as Meltzer reported last week, though it suggests that for now, the group is more secure than they appear on television.
McDonagh, a former Finn Balor protege, has been sidling up to his countryman on recent Raw episodes, much to the chagrin of Priest - and sometimes Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio as well. That WWE may be seeking to split the popular group through this storyline has long been speculated, particularly with Priest become Mr. Money in the Bank in July.
