Backstage Update On WWE's Response To Kairi Sane's Departure
The former NXT Women's Champion departed WWE earlier this week.
While WWE has so often been known to hold grudges or throw shade following a talent’s departure from the company, that is seemingly not the case with Kairi Sane.
Following her appearance on this past Monday’s Raw – where she was assaulted backstage by SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley – Sane’s tenure with WWE has concluded, with the former NXT Women’s Champion quick to take to social media to show her appreciation for the time spent with Vince McMahon’s sports entertainment juggernaut.
In a new report from Fightful Select, the relationship between Sane and WWE is said to be an extremely positive one.
Despite rumours and speculation that Kairi would be leaving the company earlier this year, the plan was always for Sane to leave WWE in July as her contract drew to a close.
Sane let WWE know several months ago that she would be returning to Japan once her WWE deal finished up in July, with Kairi keen to move back to her homeland after recently getting married.
Whilst WWE has famously been extremely concerned about where former talent may end up, the company reportedly had no concerns over Kairi Sane signing for AEW – and WWE is still hopeful of having Sane agree to become an ambassador or coach for the company.
By the sounds of it, even the ever-twitchy Vince McMahon can’t find an excuse to hold any sort of grudge against the uber-popular Kairi Sane.
