Backstage WWE Update On AJ Styles & Omos Plans
The former Raw Tag Team Champions split this past Monday.
With WWE having opted to pull the trigger this past Monday on the inevitable split of the AJ Styles and Omos tandem, now comes an update on why this decision was made.
As per the ever reliable @WrestleVotes, WWE ended up splitting this pair up a little sooner than initially planned.
This report says how Vince McMahon's sports entertainment behemoth has "significant plans" for both Styles and Omos in early 2022, with WWE eager for this break-up and feud to wrap up in time for both men to go their own paths in time for the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 38.
If it felt like they sped up the Omos & AJ Styles spilt, it’s because they did. Source says both superstars have significant plans in early 2022, and wanted any type of blow off program done prior to the major Rumble & Mania events.

Of course, many fans have speculated (see: hoped) that we may get a dream match of the Phenomenal One taking on Edge at next year's Showcase of the Immortals. As for Omos, WWE clearly has big plans for the fella due to his sheer size, presence and how he's been booked as an unstoppable monster over this past year.
Interestingly, Styles appeared on last night's NXT 2.0 to further something with Grayson Waller. Up next for P1, though, he gets to take on the hulking Omos on next week's Raw - with some expecting this match to ultimately be rematched at WWE Day 1 on New Year's Day.
