Baron Corbin Finishes MLW, Indie Dates Ahead Of Expected WWE Return (WWE News)
It looks for all the world like Constable/Happy/"Bum Ass" Corbin is on the WWE comeback trail.
Fightful Select has received word that Baron Corbin is about to make a grand return to WWE sooner rather than later. The site notes that Wrestling Observer head Dave Meltzer heard rumblings a comeback was on the cards last week. Now, they can confirm that Baron popping back up in the company "had been internally discussed".
He's also going to finish up planned dates with MLW before putting pen to paper on a new deal with WWE. Corbin left the market leader back in November 2024. That came as a slight surprise at the time due to his popular tag-team with current rising star Bron Breakker and his status as a veteran on the roster.
Since then, Baron has wrestled under his real name (Tom Pestock) and rebranded himself as Bishop Dyer. It's likely he reverts to the Corbin name for this second crack at WWE though. However, it's currently unclear whether he'll find a role on Raw, SmackDown or NXT once he does return.
This wasn't included in The Observer or Fightful write-ups, but there's a decent chance he'll fill a similar role on the roster to guys like Matt Cardona. In other words, Baron could become a 'jobber to the stars'. Critics shouldn't knock it - a gig's a gig, and being back on WWE television should help these wrestlers all over again if they leave and hit the independent circuit or negotiate elsewhere.
Interestingly, Fightful noted that they reckon "he is either signed by WWE or will be imminently". The comeback is on.
