Becky Lynch inspired a feeding frenzy with her take on the AEW women's division yesterday, having launched heavy criticism at WWE's closest competition and how it handles the scene during a new interview.

A recent guest on Drew Garabo Live Featured Cut of the Day, Lynch, who is one of WWE's biggest stars of the past few years, was asked for her take on the current competition. It sounded like she was delivering her words in-character as she claimed that not only are AEW's women not as well-represented as WWE's, but they aren't as good either (h/t Fightful):-

"I wish I could say 'yes,' but, unfortunately, I don't think they are represented the way we are, they don't get as much time as we get and frankly, they're not as good as we are. We have, certainly on Raw, we have the best women's division in the world. I say that without any hesitation in my voice. We have the best women's division in the world."

Continuing, Lynch said that while she welcomes competition (and wants to see her friends in AEW succeed), WWE is on a different level at the moment:

"Competition is great and it's great for there to be another place and I have a very good friend, Ruby Soho, over there and I would love to see her as champion one day. I would love to see her get the spotlight she deserves. Competition is always great. Over here, we're on another level."

Positioned at the forefront of WWE's women's divisions since becoming 'The Man' in 2018, Becky recently concluded a three-year streak of not being defeated for a championship, putting Bianca Belair over to drop the Raw Women's Title at WrestleMania 38. Now, she has been thrust into a feud with the returning Asuka following the Japanese star's return on this week's Raw.

WWE's women have headlined multiple major shows since the Women's Revolution kicked in a few years ago, including Belair vs. Lynch at WM38. The promotion even hosted its own all-women pay-per-view, Evolution, in October 2018, though this is yet to be repeated.

AEW, meanwhile, has been criticised for its handling of women's wrestling since day one. This continues through the Women's World Title reign of Thunder Rosa, who took that belt from AEW standout Britt Baker in March.
