Becky Lynch Is Your NEW NXT Women's Champion
The Man comes around to NXT to capture the one title that's eluded her.
Becky Lynch checked off another WWE bucket list item Tuesday night when she defeated Tiffany Stratton to win the NXT Women's Championship.
The Man ended a lengthy, disappointing feud with Trish Stratus at Payback a couple weeks ago on a high note in an excellent steel cage match, but admittedly did not have a new direction coming out of the PLE... until Stratton interjected herself.
Tiffany kickstarted the feud almost accidentally several weeks ago when she ticked off a series of former women's champions and included Lynch in her rundown. The Man is the only one of the Four Horsewomen to have never held the NXT Women's Championship during their initial run in developmental together in 2014-15.
The rivalry grew from there, with Stratton showing up on WWE main roster programming in the audience during women's matches, and finally "apologizing" to Lynch at Payback earlier this month. This got Becks' attention and she challenged Tiffany to a title match last week.

In defeating Stratton and ending her 107-day reign, Lynch became the sixth WWE women's grand slam champion (both WWE women's main titles, WWE tag titles, and NXT Women's Championship), behind Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Asuka and Rhea Ripley. Lynch is the second main roster woman to win the title, with Charlotte capturing the championship at WrestleMania 36 when she beat Ripley.
Lynch continues a trend of main roster superstars going down to NXT to mix it up with developmental wrestlers. Baron Corbin, Dana Brooke and Mustafa Ali are currently down there, and Dominik Mysterio is the current NXT North American Champion.
At 24, Stratton is just two years into her wrestling career and has a bright future with plenty of future accolades in store. And with NXT's next PLE, No Mercy, just a few weeks away, chances are that fans could see her vying for that title again very soon.
