Becky Lynch Was Due To Return At WWE WrestleMania 37 Against Bayley
The Man's WWE return was initially pencilled in for this year's Showcase of the Immortals.
For some of us, hope was high that we would somehow get Becky Lynch vs. Bayley at WrestleMania 37.
Rather than the much-hyped return of The Man to face off against the MVP of WWE's Thunderdome Era, we instead had neither woman in action, with Bayley only used in brief comedy segments and Lynch completely absent from the Showcase of the Immortals.
In a new interview with talkSPORT's Alex McCarthy, Becky has revealed that there were indeed talks to have her big return take place at WrestleMania 37 in a match against Bayley.
Following that, WWE then decided to have Lynch return this October - only to obviously change that up so that the Irish Lass Kicker made her shock return at this year's SummerSlam PPV on 21 August.
Becky Lynch just told me she was originally good to go for WrestleMania and it was discussed she’d face Bayley.
AdvertisementThat didn’t happen (obviously) and then she was meant to return in October before WWE called her the week of SummerSlam.Pretty upset didn’t get Lynch v Bayley ?

The eventual return of Becky Lynch saw her dethrone Bianca Belair in a matter of seconds to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion. Since then, Becky has embraced her more arrogant, heel tendencies on the SmackDown brand for the past several weeks.
As it stands, a Lynch vs. Belair rematch has been set for WWE Extreme Rules on 26 September. Currently, that match is simply a regular one-on-one contest, although it remains to be seen whether certain rules or stipulations are added to this bout in order for it to be in line with the Extreme Rules name.
