The former Big Cass debuted for IMPACT Wrestling during last night's Rebellion 2021 pay-per-view, replacing the injured Eric Young.
A torn ACL had rendered Young unable to compete as his Violent by Design stable faced James Storm, Chris Sabin, Willie Mack, and Eddie Edwards. Now going by W. Morrissey (an abbreviation of his real name, William Morrissey), Cass took the spot.
The big man proved the difference-maker, hitting Mack with his East River Crossing and scoring the decisive pinfall.
IMPACT is yet to officially announce whether or not Morrissey has signed with the promotion. A backstage angle that aired earlier in the night suggests this won't be the last we see of him in Nashville, however, as EY gave his then-mystery replacement an opportunity to show the world who they are.
Morrissey hasn't been contracted to a major wrestling promotion since being let go by WWE in 2018. He suffered an epileptic seizure that December, hospitalising him, and later revealed hs struggles with mental health issues, disappearing from public view after a backstage confrontation with Joey Janela on an indie show in September 2019.
Competing as Caz XL, Morrissey returned to wrestling in March of this year, working a handful of indie dates.
