Big E Thanks Friends, Fans For Support After Accident
WWE Superstar says he feels "loved and supported" as he recovers from broken neck.
The past five days have probably been among the roughest in Big E's life, but you wouldn't necessarily be able to tell from the tone of the former WWE Champion's tweets.
An immensely positive man, E has remained upbeat despite suffering a broken neck Friday night on SmackDown when a suplex on the floor went horribly awry. The injury looked really bad, and E himself confirmed the broken neck, then updated fans to say he had two fractured vertebrae but wouldn't require surgery, and that he's now home convalescing.
Now, we have another update from Big E, who admitted to being overwhelmed by the multitude of fans and friends who have reached out via various methods since the accident:
I used to endure difficult things in my life and I felt very alone. But I feel so immeasurably loved and supported. I was not prepared for the sheer volume of DMs, calls, texts, visits, etc. I’ll never be able to adequately thank you all.

It really isn't surprising to many who have followed E through the years that he is universally beloved by fans and fellow wrestlers.
Big E and his New Day partners seemingly were on a collision course at WrestleMania against Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch (better known as Pete Dunne), but those plans are off the table for the charismatic superstar. It remains to be seen if and how WWE proceeds with that angle - whether it's a simple tag match, they find someone to sub for E, or the match is dropped altogether.
No announcement has been made of how long Big E is expected to miss, but this is an extremely serious injury, so his health and wellbeing should come first before even contemplating a possible return to action.
