Big ROH Update: Next PPV Announced, "Great" Weekly TV News Coming Soon!
ROH Final Battle 2022 is set for 10 December... weekly TV news to follow?
Ring Of Honor's cogs appear to be turning, with the Tony Khan-helmed promotion's latest pay-per-view announced during last night's episode of AEW Dynamite - and weekly television news seemingly on the way too.
As confirmed on Dynamite, Final Battle 2022 will take place in Arlington, Texas on Saturday 10 December. A special start time of 4 PM Eastern has been allotted, which should help avoid going into direct competition with a UFC pay-per-view and the Hesiman Trophy winner announcement that same day.
Final Battle will be ROH's third pay-per-view since Khan took ownership in March, following April's Supercard Of Honor and Death Before Dishonor in July.
On top of announcing Final Battle, Khan has claimed there'll soon be "great news" on the topic of a weekly ROH television show. The AEW chief told Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso:-
“We’ll have great news soon about Ring of Honor weekly shows. The success of Death Before Dishonor on pay-per-view has ensured there will be more Ring of Honor pay-per-views. Our goal is to have one more great pay-per-view for Ring of Honor in 2022 and then follow that up with a weekly show in 2023.”
Former owners Sinclair Broadcasting ceased ROH's week-to-week operations in December 2021. Its weekly television show remained as a pseudo-highlights broadcast for a few months after that, though this soon ceased as well.
No weekly ROH content has been produced since Khan took control of the cult promotion. ROH retains a strong presence on ROH programming, however, with its championships, personnel, and legacy represented weekly.
