As reported earlier, AEW's Cody Rhodes is now permitted to use his full ring name for the first time since leaving WWE, after his old employers cancelled its trademark registration on the term.

WrestleZone's Bill Pritchard asked Rhodes about how this came about during today's Full Gear media call. As he did following last night's Dynamite, Cody said he is "very happy about being Cody Rhodes" again, adding that while the details of how everything went down aren't important, it was a "very positive situation" and a "no-hard-feelings scenario on both sides."

Don't expect 'The American Nightmare' to go by "Cody Rhodes" on AEW television, though. The TNT Champion said that he has gotten used to his mononym and likes the way Justin Roberts reads his ring introductions, so he won't be looking to use the full name in the wrestling space. Third-party ventures (like Cody's recent appearance on the Go-Big Show) will be where it is most useful, and Rhodes is very thankful to be able to know what he can tell people to call him onscreen.

Rhodes gave up trademark filings for "The Match Beyond" and "Slamboree" in October, potentially freeing those up for WWE to claim.
