Booking 10 Things That Should Happen After WrestleMania 33
10. Vital NXT Call Ups
Requesting call-ups from NXT seems like an easy ‘Get out of jail free’ card for fixing WWE’s problems, but it tends to add half a dozen new reasons to keep up with the product every time it happens.
The RAW/Smackdown after WrestleMania has often served as the best time to do this – WWE’s ‘season’ of TV has been reset, along with its major storylines, so introducing some new blood just makes sense.
With little else left for them to accomplish on NXT, it’s likely (and certainly appealing) that we’ll see the likes of Asuka, Shinsuke Nakamura and The Revival called up to either RAW or SmackDown, with DIY and Tye Dillinger also standing out as likely contenders.
Even as temporary band-aids, these call-ups would go a long way towards improving WWE’s weekly programming. Both RAW and SmackDown’s tag divisions are lacking in legitimate competitors, so the introduction of two of NXT’s top teams would really spice things up. Adding Asuka and Nakamura to the mix would also provide opportunities for new stories and angles – both are dominant, strong style competitors with extremely popular characters, and they could make a huge impact in the women’s and main event divisions.
