Brandi explained how seeing Maryse Mizanin openly discuss her health issues earlier this year prompted her to "press on" and find answers for herself. February saw Maryse announce how, after having her concerns dismissed by several other doctors, Dr. Thais Aliabadi listened to the former WWE star and performed surgery on her to test for endometriosis and ended up instead discovering an extremely rare pre-cancer - a discovery that Maryse credits as saving her life.

A base-level definition of endometriosis from the World Health Organisation calls it "a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It can cause severe pain in the pelvis and make it harder to get pregnant" and a condition that's "associated with severe, life-impacting pain during periods, sexual intercourse, bowel movements and/or urination, chronic pelvic pain, abdominal bloating, nausea, fatigue, and sometimes depression, anxiety, and infertility."

On X, Brandi wrote the following statement:

"3 years of pain with no answers. @MaryseMizanin's story encouraged me to press on. Many appts later, we found the answer. Stage 4 endometriosis. Successful surgery today. Ladies, listen to your bodies. We don't have to live with pain. Advocate for yourself. Finally on the road to recovery. We have to talk more about women's health. Love you @CodyRhodes. I am so blessed with your love."

Best wishes to Brandi Rhodes from all of us here at WhatCulture Wrestling.
