Davey Boy Smith is finally entering the WWE Hall of Fame.

This is according to Dave Meltzer on today's episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, with the report stating that the British Bulldog will join the Bella Twins and Jushin 'Thunder' Liger in the latest batch of announcements.

Many would consider Smith's induction long overdue. A former Intercontinental, European, and Tag Team Champion, he starred in a historic wrestling moment when he toppled Bret Hart in SummerSlam 1992's main event and was a considerable star for the majority of his run. As Meltzer notes, this is something that his family had been pushing for a long, long time, so it's nice to learn that it'll finally come to fruition this April.

Bulldog sadly passed away after suffering a heart attack in May 2002. His son Harry was recently at WWE headquarters and posted pictures of himself with former Hart Dynasty stablemates Tyson Kidd and Natalya to social media, so perhaps his dad's induction had something to do with the visit.

Whatever the case, it'll be good to see the British powerhouse take his rightful place amongst the elite at this year's Hall of Fame ceremony.
