Brock Lesnar Vs. Braun Strowman WWE Universal Title Match Set For No Mercy 2017
Monster vs. Beast on September 24th.
WWE's next pay-per-view, No Mercy 2017, takes place on September 24th, and the Raw-branded event already has its main event.
As announced by General Manager Kurt Angle on last night's show, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will put his belt on the line against Braun Strowman. This came after 'The Monster Among Men' interrupted the champ's post-SummerSlam celebration segment, then destroyed him with a set of Powerslams.
WWE have since confirmed the booking on Twitter and WWE.com. The confrontation between the two behemoths can be viewed below:-
Strowman and Lesnar were both involved in SummerSlam's four-man main event. With the Universal Title on the line, Braun dominated large stretches of the match, slamming Brock through two announce tables, which forced him to be stretchered out. 'The Beast Incarnate' eventually returned to win the bout, but it was clear that WWE were heading towards a big match between him and Strowman.
From his WrestleMania 32 sprint with Bill Goldberg to Sunday night's all-out war, Lesnar's Universal Title reign has been characterised by violent, destructive matches. Given his and Braun's respective power and physicality, and the nature of their interactions thus far, No Mercy's main event should be more of the same.
