Buddy Murphy's First Name Dropped By WWE
Today we lost a dearest Buddy...
Buddy Murphy has become the latest star to fall victim to Vince McMahon's odd fascination with shortening his talent's names.
As of today, Murphy's official WWE profile has been updated and now states that he simply goes by 'Murphy'. This isn't just apparent on his profile section either, as this name alteration also crops up on other pages of the site.
Murphy joins Andrade (who had 'Cien' Almas dropped) and Ali (who was stripped of his Mustafa, before being handed it back a few months ago) as yet another wrestler whose name was deemed as too long in the eyes of the Chairman.
Murphy has recently enjoyed a coming of age on Monday Night Raw under the tutelage of Paul Heyman and is currently part of Seth Rollin's new stable - along with the AOP - where he reigns as one half of the Raw Tag Team champions alongside the 'Monday Night Messiah'.
Hopefully, this name change doesn't effect Murphy's presentation too much in the coming months and he continues to be pushed as one of the feature players on the red brand.
What do you think of the name change? Do you want your Buddy back? Or are you quite happy to refer to the Australian as just Murphy going forward?
