Card Subject To Change: Repackaging WWE Survivor Series 1990

7. The Warriors Versus The King's Court

The Ultimate Warrior (captain), The Texas Tornado and The Legion of Doom versus 'Macho King' Randy Savage (captain) and Demolition (with 'Sensational' Queen Sherri).

In the original opener, the aptly named Perfect Team (Demolition and Mr. Perfect himself) locked horns the ironically more perfectly-named Warriors (Ultimate Warrior, 'Modern Day Warrior' and the former Road Warriors). Since June 1990, Demolition had been exploiting their 3-on-2 advantage against everyone in the Tag division, including L.O.D., who inherited The Warrior's services to level the playing field. Add to that a red hot feud between former Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect and current title holder The Texas Tornado, and the pieces fall into place beautifully.

Almost.

Unfortunately, upcoming wrist surgery prevented 'Macho King' Randy Savage from doing much beyond interference and interviews between Summerslam and WrestleMania. Even if it was light, protected work, Savage really should have captained against the WWF Champion. Tornado-Perfect can go on hold for one evening to enhance Warrior-Savage.

Hawk and Animal score the opening fall after a Doomsday Device on Ax, Kerry Von Erich puts Smash down with a Iron Claw/Tornado Punch combo and the subsequent ring-clearing altercation both disqualifies L.O.D. and Crush while creating an opening for the desperate King to act.

Sherri blasts Tornado with her scepter and Savage logs the easy pinfall. Alone with Warrior, however, The King lives to fight another day. Savage flees after a failed chair shot draws a DQ and Queen Sherri takes a Gorilla Press to the outside for her troubles.
