Fifty-percent of the participants (that is to say, one) in the Cruiserweight Title Tournament Final inevitably set to be booted to WrestleMania 34's kick-off show are now known, after Cedric Alexander bested Roderick Strong in a semi-final on 205 Live last night.

After a back and forth contest which saw both men come close to a shot at glory in New Orleans, Alexander clinched the spot by rolling Strong up for a small package. It was an emotional moment for the Queen City's favourite son, who vowed after the bout to take home the title for his daughter.

Mustafa Ali and Drew Gulak come together on next week's episode to determine Alexander's opponent at the Pre-Showcase of Immortals, the former having previously dispatched Jack Gallagher and Buddy Murphy, and the latter having eliminated regular tag-team buddy Tony Nese and the UK's Mark Andrews.

Strong's defeat means that the title will be contested for by two of 205 Live's original roster, the three remaining potentiates having all debuted with the company way back during 2016's Cruiserweight Classic, before subsequently helping comprise the purple brand's embryonic line-up.
