Cedric Alexander Reacts To Reports He Was Buried By WWE
The former Cruiserweight Champion speaks out on "burial" cynics.
Cedric Alexander was the subject of unwanted WWE controversy this year as several outlets reported that Vince McMahon had deliberately buried the former Cruiserweight Champion in his feud with AJ Styles, pointing to his five-minute Clash of Champions loss to 'The Phenomenal One' as evidence.
Alexander has now spoken out on the matter and, unsurprisingly, he completely disagrees.
Speaking to talkSPORT (h/t EWrestlingNews.com), Cedric claimed that the stories "annoyed him." "When you hear things like that, it doesn't help my brand, you know what I mean?", he said. "I knew what it was! It was great matches, I got to show a lot of my personality and my in-ring style. A loss isn't a burial. It's AJ Styles, how is that a burial?"
Alexander then went on to describe AJ as a member of wrestling's "holy trinity," adding that "losing to a wrestling deity is fine by me."
WWE have dialled back on Cedric's push since the Styles programme, with the talented star competing as a borderline enhancement talent for Andrade and Buddy Murphy on recent episodes of Raw. Regardless, the "burial" reports always seemed a tad over the top.
