Cedric Alexander Suffers Injury Scare At NXT Show
Cruiserweight star seems to avoid real damage.
One of WWE's top cruiserweight stars, Cedric Alexander, may have narrowly avoided injury at Friday's NXT house show in Winter Haven, FL.
According to a report on Lordsofpain.net, Alexander was taking on TV flop Dan Matha in a singles contest when a spot turned dangerous. Alexander moved from the corner to avoid a running clothesline from Matha, but something went wrong with the exchange and Alexander seemed to have been "knocked loopy." They went straight to the finish, which saw Alexander win with the Lumbar Check.
After the match, the referee threw up the "X" arm signal, bringing a trainer out from the back. Before the trainer could get in the ring, though, interviewer Kayla Braxton went in to talk to Alexander, who cut a victory promo that was described as "way off." Afterward, the trainer and the referee examined Alexander in the ring before he went to the back.
Alexander was kept off of Saturday evening's house show in Venice, FL, but he responded to a fan on Twitter who wrote "Hope @CedricAlexander is okay after his match last night," by telling him, "I'm 100%."
