Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast (via Sports Illustrated), Eric Bischoff, who serves as RAF's Chief Media Officer, says there have been some "relatively serious" talks about Gable competing for the freestyle wrestling company.

As Bischoff put it:

"I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that Chad Gable is a phenomenal, phenomenal amateur wrestler and is kind of sniffing around Real American Freestyle. Just throwing it out there; we’re talking about it. There’s some contractual issues that can kind of make that difficult, but we’re having discussions and relatively serious ones."

The WWE Hall of Famer also teased that there have been discussions with certain other WWE stars, adding:

"I’m not going to mention any names, but I was having a conversation not too long ago with someone we all know, and [they’re] very excited about what we’re doing at Real American Freestyle. Again, comes from a collegiate amateur wrestling background."

For those not too familiar with RAF, it's a freestyle wrestling organisation that was founded in 2025 and airs on Fox Nation, featuring a mixture of Olympic wrestlers, NCAA wrestlers, collegiate wrestlers, former high school wrestlers, and those wrestlers who've ventured into the world of MMA, including notable names like Arman Tsarukyan, Henry Cejudo, Uriah Faber, Chris Weidman, and one-time WWE prospect-turned-recent-UFC-signee Gable Steveson.

As for Chad Gable, fresh off a stunning Match of the Year contender against El Grande Americano, he's currently on a redemption arc of sorts, returning to WWE programming on last week's SmackDown, and again on last night's Raw, where he's been apologising to various luchadores for disrespecting lucha libre.
