Chavo Guerrero Claims He Fooled WWE Fans With Anti-Rey Mysterio Comments
Was Chavo Guerrero working when criticising WWE legend Rey Mysterio recently?
Chavo Guerrero has claimed he was only trolling fans by being negative about WWE legend Rey Mysterio's tributes to his late uncle Eddie.
Guerrero tweeted that he got wrestling fans "hook, line and sinker" by demanding that Rey stop "prostituting" his family name on WWE programming. This was originally a response to Mysterio using a lowrider during his entrance at WrestleMania 39, but also brought up Rey's general mid-match tributes to Eddie.
Fans on Twitter were not thrilled with Chavo after reading some of his comments, but he continued pressing the issue by saying Rey should donate some of his earnings to charity or maybe even Eddie's daughters. Then, he went on to suggest that Mysterio only paid homage to the Guerreros at all because his name wasn't as famous.
The wrestling community got hot over all of this.
Later, Chavo said he was only pushing buttons and knew exactly what he was doing. It's unclear whether or not that's strictly true, but some fans did wonder aloud whether or not Guerrero was working an angle and seeking a spot on WWE TV in the near future.
